The Club is hosting a six week CONSERVATION and OUTDOOR RECREATION EDUCATION program weekly on Sundays from January 25th to March 1st, 2026. This program is designed for 12 to 17 year olds to obtain their BC Hunting License with the completion of the written and a practical firearms examinations. This program is an "in class" Sunday afternoon offering from 2:30 to 5:45 pm, with both homework and hands on aspects related to Hunter and Firearms safety. The curriculum follows the current edition of the BCWF CORE manual. It will enable completion of the examination for certification, including the final examination. This six session Sunday afternoon approach is focused on enabling age appropriate success, interest and engagement. There is a minimum course attendance of 8 for this program held in the Club Hall. The instructor, Ken Deadmarsh, is a former educator and current Outdoor retailer and club member experienced in this course delivery. The fee includes the CORE manual, other materials, examination, instruction, nonworking firearms and facilities is $225 plus GST.
