KDFGC Target Shooting Ranges

Indoor Range

Location:  Lower Level of Clubhouse. 

Approved Use: Approved for archery, pistols (up to .44 Magnum), and small-bore rifle (up to .22 Caliber).  All shooting must be supervised by a KDFGC qualified Range Officer.

Description: Single pass, heated ventilation system.  Washrooms, spectator gallery, parking near entrance, wheelchair accessible. 

Availability: The indoor range is available to members during times scheduled by the Kelowna Precision Pistol Club, the Kelowna Practical Shooters, the Kelowna Archery Club, and the Small Bore Shooters Club.  See the Club Calendar for shooting times. 

Per Use Fees: $7.00 (Adults), $5.00 (Juniors).  Reduced fee 10 Use Punch Cards are available at the Club Office or in the online store.

Pistol Range

Location: Take road left of Shotgun Sports Field.

Approved Use: Rim-fire and center-fire handguns only.  No Holsters.

Description: Outdoor range (max, 20 meters) with covered and insulated firing line.  Set distance target boards.    

Availability: Pistol Safety Qualification required for all new members or those returning after 6 month expiration of membership. Open to all members (and a guest) during standard operating hours.

Per Use Fees: None

Shotgun Sports Range

Location: Upper field.

Approved Use: Shotgun shooting at clay targets with trap loads (Max. 2 3/4 inch shells; Max. 7 1/2 shot size, lead only; Max. 3 drams powder.  All shooting must be supervised by a club qualified Range Officer.

Description: Outdoor field with multiple shooting positions and remotely activated launchers.  

Availability: Open to Kelowna Shotgun Sports members and guests. See "Calendar" for current range schedule.

IPSC (Bays 1 and 2) and Commercial Ranges

Location: Take road left of Shotgun Sports Field

Approved Use: IPSC and commercial / LE rentals only.

Description: Outdoor bays (max. 25 meters) with covered staging areas.

Availability: IPSC range familiarization decal required for solo/non-RSO supervised use. Restricted to members with current "Black Badge" certification from IPSC.

Range Safety: As per IPSC Handgun Rules and Commercial Range Rules.

Per Use Fees: IPSC (None).  Commercial (Contact Office for Group Rates).

Rife Ranges (Bays 4 and 6)

Location: Take lower access road to lower ranges.  

Approved Use: Template .338 Lapua Magnum Rifles and below.  

Description:  Outdoor bays with covered firing line and fixed firing benches and target distances.  Bay 4 (25m and 50m). Bay 6 (100 and 200 Yards).  100/200 yard range is bench shooting only (no prone, no kneeling, no standing).

Availability: Open to all members (and a guest) during standard range operating hours.

Lower Archery Ranges (Bays 1, 2) and 3D Archery Ranges

Location: Take lower access road to lower ranges.

Approved Use:  Bay 1 (Broadhead arrows).  Bay 2 and 3D Archery (Target arrows only)

Description: Outdoor bays.  Bay 1 (Fixed target with variable firing line up to 50m).  Bay 2 (Fixed firing line with targets at 10m, 20m, and 30m).  3D Archery Range with fixed targets at various ranges.

Availability: Open to all members (and a guest) during normal operating hours.

Per Use Fees: None

Archery Field Range (aka Sherwood Forest)

Location: Take lower access road to lower ranges.

Approved use: Target arrows only.

Description: Outdoor range with fixed course of fire and scoring with multiple stations.

Availability: Open to all members during normal operating hours who have completed the Archery Field Course.

Upper Archery Range

Location: Upper field past Club House

Approved Use: Olympic-style archery and archery target practice. Gun dog training by permit - contact Range Operations Manager.

Description:  Full opening spring 2023.
